Tim Gates

 Tim is a sculptor and furniture designer. He was born in Hollywood to show business parents but initially eschewed music and dance in favor of the visual arts. After considering architecture and industrial design decided to study sculpture. He has a degree in fine art from the University of California at Davis and has been designing furniture for 20 years working mostly in glass-topped tables using curvilinear legs in nearly colliding planes. Tim now incorporates his diverse background combining metal and plastics into strata called Bas Relief Landscapes and is a member of the Chicago furniture designers association (CFDA) doing business as Design Uzzola.
